In Matthew 6, the disciples, and the crowd who had gathered, continued to listen to Jesus' teachings from the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus taught practical lessons about how to walk with God in giving, praying, fasting, and material possessions and wealth. Jesus teaches that rather than worry, we should passionately pursue Jesus and seek first the Kingdom of God. God will provide all we need. It's about the heart. A heart cannot love and serve two masters. The heart is the center of our personalities, it controls our emotions, intellects, and wills. What our heart is truly worshiping will come out in our actions and speech. A person driven by earthly treasures and wealth forgets all about eternity. Being Kingdom-minded means that what we do, what we have, and what we speak all goes to advance God's eternal Kingdom for His glory. Everything on this earth is temporary and will fade away, but what we store up in heaven will remain for eternity. Spreading the Gospel message of Jesus, sharing His Word and Life with others, and living out His Word in our daily lives helps God's eternal Kingdom and those are treasures we will cherish forever. God has been in our tomorrows and He will provide the grace we need for whatever may come. He sees from the top down and every direction. We can choose to praise His great and mighty Name and trust Him with every last exhale. The best is yet to come.
