Description

In Matthew 9, Jesus continues going to the towns and villages sharing and teaching of the Good News of life. He continued healing people and freeing them from the bondages of sin as He went. Jesus feels compassion for the worn out and weary. He is questioned by the Pharisees and religious leaders because He is doing all these things for the Lord, but is bringing them in a new way. He brings people out of religion and into relationship. He grows our faith from desperate fringe faith to radical faith that amazes Him. He shows us what it means to have mercy, grace, and compassion on the people around us. Jesus shows us what a relationship with God looks like and that pursuing Him brings His life into our dead lives because where Jesus resides, death cannot. Death cannot hold life down and Jesus is Life. People are messy, but as a follower of Christ Jesus, we are called to see, feel, and love the people God has placed around us. We need to open our eyes to see the hurting within people, feel compassion for them, and put Jesus' love into action.
