Description

In Numbers 27, God's people have been counted and the Promised Land was going to be distributed. An issue arose for 5 daughters whose father had passed. If the land was distributed according to the count of the men, they'd be left without a home. They brought their concern straight to Moses who brought it straight to God. That's where all our concerns should go. God told Moses their concern was legitimate and they needed to have land given to them. The land was meant for the families - not just the men. The families made up the nation. The women were valued by God and they get a home as well. God then prepares Moses for his passing. He would get to see the Promised Land but would not get to go into it. Moses humbly shows compassion and concern for who would lead God's people. He does not grumble, complain, or argue. His only concern is that God's people are not left like sheep without a shepherd - which is the very same heart of Jesus who became the Shepherd for all of us.
