Description

In Numbers 7, we flash back to the end of Exodus. You may be wondering how the Levites are going to carry all the equipment it takes to put up the Tabernacle and take it down again as they travel. That question is answered by going back to the dedication offerings that were given to God when the Tabernacle was built. Gifts and offerings were given by each of the tribes of Israel and then re-gifted by God to the appropriate people who would need those items based on their callings. The Levites are called to serve God in the Tabernacle - they themselves are their gifts to God, their service - and they will use the wagons and oxen to accomplish the services they are called to. This will in turn also serve God's people. Even today, we are given exactly what we need to do what God has called us to do. God loves a cheerful giver. It's a heart matter. He loves receiving heartfelt gifts from His children. Each of the tribes of Israel give gifts to God in a thankful response to God being present with them as they travel. Each of the tribes give the exact same thing, but yet every gift is recorded separately. God treasures our gifts. He counts every single one. Every act of love and kindness toward others, all the work we do as though we are working for God, all the finances we give as we are able - anything and everything we do with a heart towards God - is carefully recorded by Him. He loves our gifts and cherishes every single one.
