In Numbers 8, the Levites' lives are dedicated as missionaries for God. They will be working for God and in turn serving God's people. In preparation, they are cleansed both inside and out. When we put our faith in Jesus, we are giving all our sin and guilt to Him. He became the perfect Sacrifice for us and took all that sin and guilt to the cross with Him. We don't have to pick it back up, it's been paid for in full. As Jesus was returning to Heaven, He called all of us to spread His Gospel to the nations using the gifts and talents He's blessed us with. He doesn't force Himself on anyone - it's an invitation to join Him and escape the consequences of sin and death for all eternity. The choice is up to us. In Numbers 9, we are off! After a Passover celebration remembering how God saved them from Egypt, the road trip begins. They obediently follow God's cloud which has a flame in it at night. When God says "go", they go and when God says "stay", they stay. They are following the flame and God is building trust in His people. God speaks to us and leads us if we listen. He is the light on our path. Sometimes He has us wait and sometimes He has us move. The key is to faithfully trust and follow His lead in every single step.
