Description

In Zechariah 3, Satan tries to bring accusations to God about Joshua, the high priest who would serve God in the Temple upon rebuilding. God is the Judge, Satan is the accuser, and Jesus is our Defense attorney and Advocate. Satan pointed out the sins of Joshua and therefore Israel and insisted they should be punished. He's not wrong. We should all be punished for our sins. He forgot one important fact in the case though. The grace of God. Jesus is our eternal High Priest and He is at the throne of God interceding for us and giving us the grace we need for life and service for and to God while we are here on earth. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior - our Advocate, we cannot be condemned for sins because Jesus has already paid the price for all of them with His death. We are forgiven, cleansed, healed, redeemed, and stand righteously before God. God is just and would not condemn someone for sins that have already been been dealt with. Jesus came to earth, died on our crosses for our sins, and rose from that grave all so we could be forgiven if we chose Him. He did it desperately hoping we would. He is returning and when He does, sin that has not already been dealt with will be. Sin will be judged and bound in a day. The sin and evil of the world will be replaced with peace, prosperity, joy, security, and restoration. It will be a glorious Day of the Lord.
