Description

In this episode Tay tells the story of the completely senseless murder of Honorah Parker committed by her own daughter Pauline and her best friend Juliet Hulme. The two girls met earlier in the year of 1954 and quickly became fast friends, bonding over the social isolation and shared childhood illnesses. But this fast friendship quickly turned from just two socially awkward girls finding solace in each other to becoming obsessed with each other and began to share the same mental illnesses and delusions. These two girls ended up suffering from a horrible case of "madness of two" and under their delusions mistakenly came to believe that the only way they could be together was to kill Pauline's mother. Content warning: this episode contains descriptions of violence, discussion of mental illness, past mental health "treatments" and discussions around discrimination to those in the LGBTQIA+ community. Please listen with care.
