Carl Bombardier was named the Arizona Coyotes Director – Performance Nutrition Coach on September, 2021. Bombardier is the first full-time sports dietitian in franchise history and only one of four full-time sports dietitians who is solely working with an NHL team in the entire league.
Bombardier, 33, joined the Coyotes from the Seattle Seahawks where he acted as a
sports dietitian for the NFL team. He began his sports nutrition career in 2017 with the
Oakland Raiders, where he was a performance dietitian intern. Since his tenure with
the Silver and Black, Carl had the opportunity to work with different teams and athletes from all over the world in different capacities. After a 6 months stint in New Zealand, Bombardier had stopped at Clemson University (Clemson, SC), Texas Tech (Lubbock, TX), Fortius (Vancouver, BC), and SCIENCED Athletics (Burnaby, BC) on top of running his private practice that offers sports nutrition and strength and conditioning services.
A native of Valcourt, Quebec, Bombardier played three seasons in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) for the OCN Blizzard and then suited up at the University of Wisconsin-Stout (NCAA-DIII), where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in Health, Wellness, and Fitness. He then pursued his Master’s degree at the University of Utah, where he graduated with honors from their Coordinated Master’s Program in Dietetics and Sports Nutrition. “Bomber” is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) through the Commission of Dietetics Registration, Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS) through NSCA, and a Certified Kinanthropometrist via the International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK).
