Having this podcast episode out in the world feels very cathartic! It took me awhile to muster up the courage to share about this because I kept comparing my experience with other people's traumatic experiences. My logical-brain told me that my problem wasn't relatable and there were worse situations that deserved more attention. I felt like I just needed to suck it up and move on.
Finally, I realized that so many of us go through negative experiences of varying severity and keep it to ourselves because we don't think it is worth time and attention. What I've come to realize is that we all deserve to be seen, held, and heard when we are suffering no matter the perceived severity of the situation. You deserve that help and love from your community and so do I. Then when we've come back to ourselves and are feeling better, we can step in a do the same for someone else going through a hard time.
