In this week's episode we sit down with Brit Fleck, an interdisciplinary gerontologist, designer, and healer. Brit has an impressive track record of working with clients ranging from small startups to large non-profits, helping them understand and reach consumers in the caregiving, wellness, death, and business of aging spaces. Her clients have included AARP Innovation Labs, Kaiser Permanente, NBC Health, Peer Insight, and the Coalition to End Social Isolation and Loneliness.
Brit's unique skill set has been described by a previous collaborator as being an "illuminator" - someone who lights things up. She holds a B.S. in Human Development & Aging, a Yoga Therapist for Seniors license, and is a certified End of Life Doula. Currently based in Oakland, California, Britt is supporting individuals in hospice, teaching yoga to seniors, and exploring her creative passions.
In the fall, Brit will be pursuing her Masters's in Public Health at Yale University, where she plans to focus on equitable end-of-life care and the impact of childhood trauma on terminal illness later in life. Join us as we discuss Britt's work and the importance of breaking down age-related stigmas in our society.
