Episode 4: Virtual Party - Roll20 and Astral VTT
*On July 13, 2022, Astral VTT announced they will soon be closing for good. OneBookShelf(DriveThruRPG/DMsGuild) had been maintaining the servers, but have decided to join with Roll20 adding their large list of PDFs and increasing the offerings on the Roll20 Marketplace by 20 times.
Virtual tabletops have grown exponentially over the past seven or eight years. We start our VTT review series by looking at Roll20, one of the original and most popular VTTs. Many people's first experience was choosing between paying monthly to play on Fantasy Grounds or playing free on Roll20. While Roll20 might have its issues, it's a solid workhorse that does most things well. We also look at Astral VTT, a clean virtual tabletop that unfortunately isn't in active development anymore.
