In this episode, I am joined by special guest Amber Price, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Behavior Analyst, and Clini-Coach focused on helping adults struggling with ADHD. She has over 15 years of experience working with individuals struggling with mental health issues, autism, and ADHD. And personal and professional experience with numerous neurodivergent individuals.
As an adult with ADHD, Amber shares not only her clinical expertise but her personal experience with burnout as a neurodivergent person.
We define what neurodivergence is and how burnout can affect the mind differently than that of a neurotypical person. We explore how neurodivergent minds in the workplace may work in a different manner and complete tasks in a different manner than expected.
Amber recommends two great strategies that people can start to implement when they are trying to figure out their strategy in the workplace
Are there some jobs that are a better fit for neurodivergent minds? We discuss some of these types of jobs and what they may look like. Amber gives us some tips and clues on what to look for in the recruitment process to help you determine if a potential workplace would be a good fit.
We also discuss how important self-care is and the role it can play in burnout prevention.
