- After the flop of Deviputurdu in 2001, MS Raju was left in heavy losses and wanted to do a small movie either a love story or family movie
- Then MS Raju’s friend the legendary S Gopal Reddy said there’s a new guy looking to make his debut as director VN Aditya he worked under Jayant C Paranji, he has matter or talent and gave him his phone number. VN Aditya said he had multiple offers to make his debut in various banners at the time. S Gopal Reddy gave him his phone number and MS Raju tried calling him 4-5 times but VN Aditya took to lightly as why would such a big producer be trying to call me.
- But finally he met MS Raju in his office and he told me he wants to do a small movie, I’ll tell you two lines, you tell me which one you like. VN Aditya selected the 2nd one. Inspired from Anmol Gad and Bhagyaraja’s Darling Darling, MS Raju wrote the line. MS Raju and VN Aditya finished the script work
- When the hero is crying in the rain, his friend tells him orey varsham kudos appudu appudu manaku mail chesthundi raa, mana kaneelu yedutha vaari kanapada kunda dachesthundi. This line touched MS Raju’s heart (manasu hathukundi). He wrote a 25,000 rupee advance check to VN Aditya and confirm chesaru movie ni. Parachuri brothers worked on the screenplay. The day after, they announced the movie title Mansantha Nuvve. First choice was Mahesh Babu but he had already committed to a movie with Gunahskear at the time which was Okkadu and he rejected it. VN Aditya felt if a new hero did it, it would it better. At that time, MS Raju felt Chitram hero Uday Kiran would be a good fit. At that time, Uday Kiran was shooting for Nuvvu nenu and it had not released yet
- Then MS Raju went to the set and saw the rushes of Nuvvu Nenu and fixed Uday Kiran as the hero, and Reema Sen was confirmed as heroine. Then Parachuri brothers said the scenic order (in sequences) scenes aren’t good, we have to change a lot, VN Aditya got sacreed and then within 10 days Aditya, MS Raju, Veeru Potla, and Parachuri Brothers worked on the script and readied a final version
- Then recently famous comedian Sunil was cast along with Chandramohan, Tanikella Bharani, and Sudha and then shooting started. Araku Valley, Hyderabad, and Malaysia they filmed the movie. Finished very less working days.
- Budget was 1 crore 30 lakhs, because Nuvvu Nenu hadn’t released, it was done in a lower budget, audio released and became a bumper hit, every song became a classic and The song "Tuneega Tuneega" became a massive hit. It was re-arranged from Vidyasagar's original composition "Kannadi Koodum Kootti" from Pranayavarnangal (1998). RP Patnaik worked a lot to get the antique watch sound right in re recording and mixing
- MS Raju went for own release and on October 19th, 2001 movie release in theaters
- Literally everything in the movie the audience liked and RP Patnaik became a star music director in industry with his amazing re recording and BGM and VN Aditya got a good name after his 1st movie and would go onto to make Nenuannu. Relief for MS Raju and Sunil became a star comedian with this movie
