this week i get a little worked up this week talking about the business and how little school prepared me for life. especially because i felt so personally invested in/frustrated by my education.
it’s crazy how our system in the states is still set up to make you a good worker for someone else. and probably saddle you with a shit ton of loans in the process.
oh those dreams you were after? yeah, have fun chasing those. here’s $150,000 of debt you’ve gotta start paying in a year. good luck.
the best skills i’ve learned for work have come from working. the most i’ve learned about business has come from starting one. you gotta get dirty and try shit. i know i’m a cornball, but i really wish our education system was set up to help people pursue their passion rather than being “realistic” and/or putting an emphasis on more traditional jobs held in high esteem.
i’ve met too many rich miserable people to know that well paying and powerful gigs ain’t gonna make you happy on their own. you either need some mixture of autonomy and purpose, which i feel most folks are severely lacking.
you get one of these bitches. for real. you really gonna spend it trying to make somebody else happy? fuck outta here.
how do you feel about all this? do you agree? violently disagree?
let me know:
