In October 2010, I was battling for a starting position for Missouri State University. My position, second base, was taken by an All-American. Our head coach sent me to learn right field where I've never played.
Why was I in this situation?
Because Missouri State and playing for Coach Guttin was one of my primary goals coming out of high school. I was on a mission.
There was no plan B.
As we headed into the final day of the fall, Coach Guttin called me into his office and explained my situation. It was an "end-game" type of moment where he gave me an ultimatum heading into our winter training.
The pressure built to an all-time level for me with my scholarship money, potential pro-career, representing my high school, parents, and friends, we're all in jeopardy. It was potentially an imploding moment.
...And then, it didn't.
Find out how I went from being an underperforming bottom of the barrel player to the most reliable person on the field.
Here are five lockdown moves you can make when the pressure is at its highest.
