Description

Happy New Year! In this episode Mandy and Stephanie bring that ‘fresh start’ energy to the podcast with a conversation about reflection, setting goals, and naming intentions for the year. You will also hear why having a mentor can help you get ahead, the tools for finding and asking someone to be a mentor, and how to manage that relationship for mutual benefit.

The guest on the show, Tracy J. Edmonds is the Owner and CEO of TJE Coaching & Consulting, where she serves as an executive coach and DEI strategist. A former corporate executive who served as Chief Diversity Officer at Anthem, Tracy brings a unique blend of thought leadership, strategic planning, and execution mindset to her work.

She specializes in coaching women – particularly minority women – to bring out their best in a corporate environment. As a strategist and partner to her clients, Tracy simplifies the DEI journey with a focus on building capacity to drive sustainable change. Tracy is also an author and speaker on the topics of diversity, inclusion, authenticity, and leadership. Her book, Wild Hair, A Courageous Woman’s Guide to a Bold and Authentic Career, released March 2021, and has achieved Amazon international bestseller status.

“Look for a truth-teller. Because you can get a mentor to educate you on finance and marketing. But when you are talking about career change and what it takes to be successful as a woman in corporate America and where you want to go with your career, we need to talk truthfully about that. We need to know not just that you can do it, but that it will be difficult.”

From this episode’s conversation, you will hear:

● Why reflection, setting goals, and naming intentions in the new year can drive your success throughout the whole year.

● The benefits of having a mentor.

● Why authentic leadership has a major ripple effect and may just be the only way to lead.

● The value of a truth-teller in your professional life, especially for women.
