Licensed Psychologists, Dr. Renee DeBoard Lucas & Dr. Stephanie Wolf of the True Trauma Center join the show to discuss the impact trauma has on the developing mind of a child. Dr. Lucas & Dr. Wolf share their expert insight on behaviors a child might exhibit when enduring traumatic experiences, ways parents, guardians, & educators can support today's young people experiencing trauma, and the risk of untreated adverse childhood experiences. The True Trauma Center is a non-profit mental health organization based in the D.C. area, that provides intervention and prevention services to children and families who have/are experiencing trauma. The True Trauma Center is set to open its doors this Fall and will also provide education and trainings to organizations and local communities.
