We have so many options these days to either "entertain" us or to "distract" us.

From scrolling social media, binging TV, binging the news, binging on snacks, eating out, retail therapy...

And the reason we do these things and the reason for anything we do is... to satisfy 6 Basic Human Needs, which we'll cover in this episode.

When life seems dull or boring and like a repeat of yesterday, we look for inputs and activities that EXCITE us and make us feel ALIVE.

And...

When life gets overwhelming where we have TOO much going on, we look for inputs and activities that calm us or numb us so we don't have to think so much and so we can escape from reality... even if just for a while.

Many of these activities fall under the umbrella of "distractions"...

and when left unchecked where we can't say NO to them... they become addictions.
