In this episode of the podcast, hosts Kiley Wilde and Pete Beckettare joined by Daniel Lindholm @dropkickmonk3y, a Swedish musical composer who has also done work on arrangements for various different games including Resident Evil 6, Yakuza Dead Souls, Lollipop Chainsaw and Street Fighter 5, starting on Season 2.
We discuss his body of work, including his early days, the big break into Triple A music composition, and how he managed to get the “gig” with the Street Fighter team. We delve deep into the various different character themes for Street Fighter 5 and influences for creating the music. We also asked how a composer comes up with ideas for characters, and what source material they had for each character.
We then speak about the recent articles that were doing the rounds, such as Connor Makar’s article from VG247 https://www.vg247.com/fei-long-street-fighter-not-coming-back as well as briefly touching on Nintendo Life’s article https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2022/05/bruce-lees-family-responds-to-suggestion-that-fei-long-wont-appear-in-future-street-fighters. We ask how it all started in his own words, and let him explain the timeline of events in his words.
For full disclosure, we did reach out to Connor Makar at VG247 for further comment but we heard nothing back before the publishing of this episode.
We hope you enjoy the episode.
