Sit with me as we hear from Sam Garcia of Anchorage, Alaska. Sam is a Peer Support Specialist in the state and shares his story of recovery. Sam shares about grief and loss. Sam talks about being introduced to alcohol and drugs at a young age and how it effected his social life as well as his mentality. Sam shares about being incarcerated multiple times for crimes committed while either under the influence or in support of a substance. Sam shares being in treatment multiple times but people, places, and things brought him back into active addiction. Sam shares about how his last relapse and events that led him jail and how it directly effected his life in a much deeper way than he can imagine.
