When you or a loved one has surgery, do you ever pay attention to whether or not your surgeon is employed by the hospital?
If your answer is no, you are like most of us here in the US. When this patient went to have her surgery, she signed a form stating that her surgeon did not work for the hospital. This is what stopped her from recovering the damages (costs) to pay for the surgery to fix the complications.
