Sharmeka McClintock, M.Ed is a military wife, mother of two amazing boys, and an Early Childhood Educator. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Prairie View A&M University; and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction- with a focus on Early Childhood Education, from Concordia University-Portland. Her classroom experience ranges from teaching seventh grade science at a public-school; to teaching preschool in various daycare centers; teaching kindergarten in a charter school with an accelerated curriculum; to now teaching pre-kindergarten in a city run, innovative school called Pre -K 4 SA. When she reflects on her privilege to teach children in different states, and even in another country, it becomes clear that her journey as a military spouse and as a teacher, which both began in 2009, are undeniably linked. Each time she taught in a new school setting, with a different age-group, or in a novel location- it contributed to the teacher she is today: resilient, determined, and appreciative of diversity and differences.
