Goals and dreams are paramount as we enter into our forties and fifties because it can be far too easy to lose sight of what really matters. Goals and dreams give us something to focus on, work towards, feel fulfilled and motivated, break free from limiting beliefs and more importantly redefine what it means to be a woman in midlife. Listen as I think and chat about my own journey through the midlife line in the sand moments and talk about:
Questions to begin such as who am I now that my children aren’t dependent on my? Now my parents have passed? Now I’ve left my career? Now that society sees me as ‘older’?
The challenges that can come alongside pursuing our goals and dreams such as mistakes, being outside our comfort zone, caring for ageing parents and resistance from family and friends.
The importance of identifying your goals and breaking them down into smaller and more manageable steps. Making a plan that includes setting deadlines, creating a schedule and focusing on one goals at a time.
Taking action. First steps of courage to keep you moving forward and having someone who can keep you accountable and support you as you work towards your goals.
At the end of the day, finding a community of like-minded individuals to support you on your journey is really beneficial in order to stay persistent, motivated and focused.
