Even prolife Christians sometimes struggle to defend a belief in the full humanity and personhood of the embryo, from conception. Dr Calum MacKellar, a biochemist and theologian has wrestled with these issues for some time and his 2017 book The Image of God, Personhood and the Embryo addresses the debates, as well as exploring the history of Christian thought on the subject. Tim and Calum discuss the book and the pertinent issues, with a particular focus on how such questions impact abortion.
