Welcome back ! This week we’re talking about diet culture: a rigid set of expectations about valuing thinness and attractiveness over physical health and emotional well-being. It often emphasizes “good” versus “bad” foods, focuses on calorie restriction, and normalizes negative thinking towards yourself and your body. I started noticing this concept a few years ago, so I wanted to face this topic head on and ask myself, what affect has diet culture had on me, and how can I start living a diet culture free life ?
My hope for this episode is to open up a conversation about the way we look at ourselves and the people around us, so we can start questioning the things we see around us.
