Episode 6 is a recap of how my first talk went at my old high school went and a summary of the main personal finance strategies of the presentation. I talk about how to go the opportunity to talk, how I went about creating the presentation from scratch and delivering a great piece of content that the students reacted well to. As a personal finance nerd though, I have to dive into the topic at some point so episode 6 also goes over basic personal finance strategies to help you pay yourself first, budget to get out of debt and begin to save money so you can become financially sustainable. Brace yourself for the statistics and the horrors of credit and debt. They're real and they're a big problem. Episode 7 will be part 2 of the presentation on investing, breaking down basic financial instruments, the purpose of each, which account to use, what to look for, investing options you have in Canada, how the fees work and the beauty of compound interest.
