An interview on perfume and the spirit with our guest Afra Khan AKA ANAKHEMIA. Afra Khan is an electronic music producer, DJ and visual artist engaging primarily in photography and video with a passion for digitally manipulated art.
An ardent student of the Kabbalistic philosophy, she finds the rigid notions of conformity, belonging and identity very archaic ideas in the context of
planetary futurism.
Her visual work in music has been exhibited in London and Paris alongside works of legendary electronic musicians like Daft Punk, Kraftwerk, Jeff Mills and Juan Atkins.
She was one of the first music editors writing for Saudi Arabia’s leading national daily, ARAB News, and then became the first music magazine publisher via her magazine Verse 69, bringing interviews from the world’s biggest electronic music artists to the Kingdom.
She is also the author of ‘Girl Alchemy’ - a self help handbook for females on how to guide your feminine potential into achieving success in the most important areas of your life.
She believes that audio-visual art is a powerful medium of our time and that all artists share the responsibility of creating work that transforms
the collective experience by offering hope, inspiration and a means toward evolution.
She also co-founded a feminine centric home based perfumery called ZENSE along with her sister, offering therapeutic body care products. Recommend Books: Awaken to Healing Fragrances, Elizabeth Jones The Art of Seduction, Seema Anand The Secret Rose Garden, Shabistari
