Today, Christina introduces us to how we can use music therapy during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. We touch on using music therapy to cope with anxiety during pregnancy, music therapy to cope during birth and using it in postpartum to process your birth.
About our Guest:
Christina Koenig, MT-BC, Birth Doula
Christina attended Shenandoah University where she received her bachelor of music therapy and she has been a board-certified music therapist for 3 years. In those 3 years, she's worked with people in hospice care, memory care, medical settings, and special education. Christina recently started doula work, having been trained through The Autonomy Mommy's doula training. She has completed a course on postpartum music therapy. As Christina learns more about doula work, she continues to see how the benefits of music therapy fit so well into the maternal health space! Christina is currently living in Richmond, Virginia (with her two cats) and they love it here! She loves the brewery scene in this city and being an hour away from the mountains allows her to regularly go backpacking, camping, and Overlanding! (some of my favorite hobbies!)
