beginning in 2017-ish, typing in all lowercase letters took the world by storm. you know those youtubers that use that ONE font in all their thumbnails? and it's always lowercase? it was considered "aesthetic" and very attractive to teenagers (including me lol). it's kind of a defining personality trait for gen z, but recently i've seen more people shift back to proper grammar and turn autocaps back on. in this (long overdue) episode, i talk about the origin of lowercase typing, why it's lasted, and the major shift towards capitalization. in the second half, i explore different theories as to why teenagers are starting to use proper writing mechanics. crazy to think about, right? ♡ https://linkr.bio/matthewsperspective
