Casey Muze describes himself as a community gopher for his organization,
Avenue Speak, an organization designed to help people from grade school
up to a hundred express themselves and create a narrative for their
life through a series of programs involving speaking, writing, hand
drumming and much more. Casey,a Mr. Rogers of hand drumming, offers to
be your guide whether it be through The Rythm Arts Project (a program
designed for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities),
Drum Talk (teaching people bidirectional communication through rhythm),
his creative writing workshops, or King Avenue (a mentoring program for
adolescent and young men). For our conversation, Casey allowed me into
his creative sacred space, and I hope you will join me as we go and meet
