Mike D'Angelo owns and operates The Fight Zone in Fort Myers where people from all over town train for years as MMA fighters. D'Angelo says that he he and his family have trained people from practically toddlers into full-grown wrecking machines. Nick Recchia is a professional fighter out of Fight Zone, and is tenured in the SWFL fighting scene. He tells stories of his decisions to walk into an MMA gym after being kicked out of hockey for fighting, his experiences as an amateur fighter, and his more recent decision to start trading concussions for more than just a free steak dinner.
