It is vitally important to set the right tone, especially if you intend to make homeschooling a long term commitment for your family. This means that your children should know that there is a separation between playtime and school time. This does not mean that there cannot be an element of playfulness surrounding the homeschool experience, but what it does mean is that from the very beginning you want to send the message to your children that there is a time and place for everything and that playtime is playtime and school time is school time.
