Another episode in the bag, and guess what? We now have a video podcast! Check us out on YouTube. This past Sunday, the whole gang was together: Luca, AJ, and my brother Mike. We're here to deliver that "audible chocolate" you know and love.

This episode of Andor was excellent, with credit going to the writing staff. Throughout the viewing, I noted several standout lines delivered by Cassian, Luthen, and Kino. These lines were expertly performed by Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, and Andy Serkis, respectively.

The cast is clearly having a blast with the material they've been given. Not only are their performances engaging, but the set design perfectly matches the tone of each scene. One especially chilling exchange takes place between Luthen and another character who shall remain nameless here. The setting is dark, cold, and damp, deep within Coruscant—300+ levels down, according to the elevator. With air pumped in and artificial lighting, a cool breeze sweeps Luthen's black cloak as he speaks to this character on a catwalk.

Skarsgård is clearly relishing every moment on screen. Andy Serkis also shines this episode. Initially, I thought his character would be more villainous and that the prison break would stretch out to the season finale. Fortunately, I was wrong. In the previous episode, "Nobody's Listening," we saw Andor attempt to bond with Loy, initially for selfish reasons but also to reveal more about Serkis's character's dedication to maintaining order among his men. A close-up shot captures Loy's pain as he realizes his obedience was in vain.

I'll say it again: this was a great episode, the darkest in tone so far. With two episodes left, we're gearing up for the end of the season. After that, we have all of February to finish them before The Mandalorian Season 3 premieres. The trailer's abundance of lightsabers has me excited to see where the series goes next.

Thanks for listening! Also, I noticed that the guards in the prison were using DH-17 blasters, the same used by the Rebel soldiers on Princess Leia's CR90 Corvette, the Tantive IV. I'll tweet out the links to Wookieepedia where I found this info.
