Apologies for the delay in publishing. Mike and I recorded this Sunday, but as I've mentioned before, I need 24 hours to process what I've just watched. This time, I needed a bit longer and even skimmed the episode before writing this so it was fresh in my mind.

This episode was incredible. It starts with a bit of suspense as Cassian and Melshi are on foot, trying to escape Narkina 5. The ISB still has Bix in custody and is extracting as much information from her as possible. Marva has died, and funeral arrangements are underway. Vel meets with Kleya and informs her of Cassian's mother's death, hoping it will draw him back to Ferrix. Vel also discovers that Mon Mothma's daughter is involved in a strange cult from their homeworld of Chandrila. She learns about the significant amount of money Mon Mothma needs to clear before the Imperial Audits discover the discrepancy.

I'll say it again: the back-and-forth about the money is dragging out too long, and I'm losing interest. They find a guy to help who finds another, less legitimate guy. Are they stretching this storyline to make 12 episodes, or was this complex banking system really necessary to hide Mon Mothma's disloyalty? Shouldn't Vel be the one in dire need of laundering 40,000,000 stolen Imperial Credits? Not only that, she needs a place to physically hide them. Wouldn't laundering the 40,000,000 in hard currency be a bigger problem than a mere 400,000? It seems odd, but I guess it's more critical for this not to happen to an Imperial Senator versus a wealthy girl from Chandrila who hasn't been implicated in the heist on Aldhani.

Of course, Karn is dragged back into the story. He's tipped off by his old sergeant, now working in a durasteel foundry, that Andor's mother has passed away. So now he's on his way back to potentially intercept him. Luthen also meets with Saw Guerrera, who eagerly decides to join Kreegyr's assault on the power station at Spellhouse. Luthen warns him he's walking into a trap, and Saw delivers one of the best lines in the series.

The episode's end is a feast for the eyes and ears. After leaving the Fondor system, Luthen is interdicted by what is called a Cantwell-Class "Arrestor Cruiser." He destroys the ship's nose-mounted tractor beam with a rear-mounted flechette launcher on the top half of his ship's hull. This is not what a tractor beam looks like! As far as I know, they've never been pictured in any media, Expanded Universe or otherwise. I can think of one instance in a comic book where a tractor beam operator fails to pull Luke Skywalker's X-Wing into the hangar of Grand Admiral Thrawn's Star Destroyer. However, we're never shown what the actual device looks like in the comic or the corresponding novel. I'm running out of room and can't complain about tractor beams anymore. Please check Twitter for a picture of the Interdictor-Class Star Destroyer.
