Proverbs 9:10 - “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” So many of us yearn for wisdom or knowledge, some insight that would be a guiding light on how to make sense of this life. I believe there is so much value in listening to those who have walked before us. To sit and learn from those who intentionally pursue the Lord.
1 Corinthians chapters 1-3 is the text we focused on for this topic. Paul is addressing the church in Corinth, and bringing attention to the emphasis they have started to place on knowledge and the divisions it was causing. He reminds them that the world through its wisdom did not know God. Continuing in chapter 2 verse 11 it says " For who knows a person's thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God." The things that come from the Spirit of God can only be discerned through the Spirit.
We begin with reverence to the Creator.
