Description

Ms Deepa Bose has been an orthopaedic consultant for 13 years, specialising in trauma and limb reconstruction. Today she shares her story - starting in Guyana to mastering a clasically male dominated specialty. We discuss issues which affect female surgical trainees - including having children, working less than full-time and the importance of mentorship in medicine. We also hear about the work she does teaching orthopaedics in developing nations including Guyana, Ukraine and Palestine. This conversation was both inspiring and reassuring about life as a women in surgery. Deepa was an absolute pleasure to speak to and I hope you enjoy the episode.
