Following a list of rules without knowing Jesus leads to cold, dead, religion every time, because it’s knowing who Jesus is that leads to living how Jesus lived, not trying to follow a list of rules by our own willpower. The first face that is a picture of Jesus is the face of the man - Jesus as a communicator. And the first way that He communicated with the world was by listening, not talking. Heard people hear people, so if we want others to listen to our message about Jesus, we have to start the same way he did - by listening and hearing.
