In Matthew 3:36, just as Jesus was about to begin His ministry on Earth, the Holy Spirit descended upon Him to prepare Him for His work. It was the Holy Spirit who enabled Jesus to perform the many miracles of the Bible, and it was the Holy Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead. Before He ascended into Heaven, after the resurrection, Jesus instructed His followers to wait for the promise of the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus said would lead and guide us into all truth (John 16:13).
