Dementia is a group of cognitive, life-limiting symptoms that progressively damage the brain, often leading in to a decline in a person's memory, function and behaviour.

Alzheimer's is the most common form of dementia (50-70% of cases). Over 1000 different types. Over 425,000 Australians have suffered from dementia. Around an 8 billion cost to Australia over the last 20 years (economically)

The podcast goes through the story of Doug & Eileen's first exposure to Dementia and how they wanted to make a difference. Eileen was diagnosed 10 years ago.

They are both excellent public speaker on the topic of dementia, travelling internationally. They discuss how the Advocoacy started.
