Description

The Year 8 Project is a major piece of student negotiated work involving planning, research and personal reflection. Each project undertaken should involve at least 25 hours of work over 20 weeks outside of school. It is an opportunity for students to follow a passion or try something new, developing skills along the way. It aims to develop forward planning, perseverance, determination, resilience and personal gratification.

Projects had to integrate at least one theoretical strand from the Year 8 Integrated Unit studied throughout the year, including self and identity, making a difference, sustainability and future impacts or community interconnectedness. These units enable students to be open minded to a new way of learning with the aim of raising self-awareness and deeper understanding, of themselves and the wider world.

In this podcast join Tom Elliott, Ashton Edwards, Oliver Medwin, Will Groom and James Richards as they discuss their Year 8 projects.
