An Introduction to Carol: My name is Carol May and I'm a Disruptive Health Coach & Intuitive Eating Therapist for Midlife Menopausal Professional Women. I am the creator of The Food Freedom Formula. I work with failed yo-yo dieters and sugar addicts, women who are tired of the dieting hamster wheel but have a strong desire to be healthy through midlife and beyond; women who want to break free of food and dieting prison.
I started dieting age 12, when I wasn't fat, but I hated my body, and went on to yo-yo diet and battle food cravings and emotional eating for the next 5 decades. I put my life and dreams on hold until I had finally won the battle with the scales...which I never did. BUT I was exhausted from constantly thinking about my weight and my body size; I was fed up with following all the advice and doing all the 'right' things and then finding myself in the kitchen eating my way through the fridge! Fed up with restarting every Monday morning, only to fail by Tuesday...
Then my menopause journey started... and my body changed (almost overnight!) into something I didn't recognise! I hated it even more! So, I followed a diet of shakes and bars and dropped 56 lbs in 4 months. I felt great about my body again - but not for long...
At the age of 52 I had a breakdown and collapsed with Adrenal Fatigue which left me feeling tired all the time and suffering from brain fog, low motivation and unable to function, let alone work in my health practice. Then I discovered a new way of thinking which allowed me to release unhelpful emotions alongside 44 lbs in weight, in just a few months, without dieting. And my weight has been stable ever since.
