Dealing with staff is without a doubt one of the hardest things that a small business owner has to deal with. How do you make difficult decisions? Do you rip the band-aid off or do you have a methodical approach to working with troublesome staff?
Getting your emotions under control and giving yourself some space between the decisions and the delivery of those decisions is a simple and very effective way to lead in difficult situations. Developing an understanding of how you react in certain situations is critical to your EQ (emotional intelligence) and will determine how quickly you progress in your life.
