Description

Welcome back, everyone! A short break but we are back and better than ever with an exciting guest lineup for our RESILIENCE SEASON! Yep, that’s right, we are diving deep into resilience and what this truly means physically and emotionally resilient.
So, do you believe you are resilient? When you are hit with a hurdle, what is your first reaction?
When we become resilient, what we have is the ability to express and process our emotions and to grieve, learn and grow from adverse events. In doing so, every setback we overcome has the capacity to teach us how to cope better down the line. This is RESILIENCE.
As mentioned in the episode, there was a Harvard University study done on children’s development and how some children develop resilience and some don’t, the four main points that contribute to children developing resilience are:

Facilitating supportive adult-child relationships;
Building a sense of self-efficacy and perceived control;
Providing opportunities to strengthen adaptive skills and self-regulatory capacities;
and Mobilizing sources of faith, hope, and cultural traditions.
