Description

In the Gospel reading for the First Sunday of Advent this year, Jesus tells us, "Watch!" This is difficult for most of us for whom--if we're honest--preparation for Christmas often feels more like a project than anything else. While getting ready to celebrate Christmas isn't a bad thing, we may miss what Jesus and His Church want to point out to us in the coming days, namely:

1. that we should watch for His coming now, in our everyday lives,
2. that we ought to prepare "in joyful hope" to meet Him at the end of our lives, and
3. that we're waiting for His triumphant return and the end of all things.
