Description

In this episode I am joined by John Beamson, a qualified Mountain Leader who has spent the last few years undertaking long-distance hikes, climbing all of the highest mountains in the UK and working with senior Mountain Leaders. The aim is to experience the outdoors, meet new people, climb a mountain, look down from the top and say to yourself ‘I did it’. Before this John was in the British Army for ten years.

John and I share how our stories can connect us to feeling the same way in life at given moments when there is change, uncertainty and times when we feel we have failed. When this happens, it is key to be able to find confidence from knowing your purpose in life and vision. Keeping this strong and at the forefront of every decision you make and action you take is paramount.

Through Robustours, John states: "If you don’t come equipped to deal with sudden changing weather, foot issues and hunger to name only a few potential issues, you could fail to finish the event, hold up the team or make it so much harder for yourself when with good preparation it needn’t have been." This is almost an anecdote for life in some ways - being prepared for owning everyday and making the most of moments to create greater things for our future.

It was a truly rich conversation packed with great questions, moments to pause and reflect on how powerful it can be to vulnerably share your story and inspire others in their journey.

Enjoy.
