While on TikTok, Tracy came across a video about talking to yourself in the third person. It’s a practice she agrees with and does often. Her reason for doing it, however, was much different than the content creators reason. He encouraged his followers to talk to themselves in the third person to achieve separation from the ego. Tracy does it to force herself to identify what she’s experiencing, where in her body she is experiencing it, and then communicate those things to her higher self.
When we experience anxiety, depression, fear, or any negative human emotions, that is not your ego. That is the programming of the id. When your body experiences these feelings, the id tries to overtake the ego. Separation is in fact the reason you’re experiencing these negative emotions. A well fed ego can keep the id in check. Talking to yourself in third person, you connect the ego and the id and create alignment.
