Evelyn's got us putting our thinking caps on this week with Bong Joon-ho's 2003 true crime masterpiece Memories of Murder. The film was inspired by South Korea's very first confirmed serial murders, which makes the last shot before the credits roll even more powerful when put into historical context. With the use of gorgeous cinematography, it is largely centered around the incompetency of the police force who was responsible for investigating the crimes, resulting in an emotionally well-balanced black comedy of sorts. This is a Devil's Work reminder to try and live your life in a way that doesn't result in you being kicked in the chest by a police detective. This is also a plea to police detectives to not kick people suspected of crimes in the chest.
