'Manje Di Bahi' is on of the most beautiful Punjabi short story which basically exposes the different layers of a family structure of a patriarchal society. In this story there are two brothers who live together peacefully. The younger sibling is married and the elder one is a bachelor.
Situations take a new turn when the elder sibling express his desire to get married but his younger brother and sister in law start contemplating about the division of the ancestral land which is bound to happen if the elder brother gets married and bears children. Ajmer Aulakh has portrayed the dynamics very beautifully in the short story while keeping the genuineness alive.
