'Paatshah' is a beautiful short story written by one of the most renowned punjabi writer Sukhjit. The protagonist of the story who is an old man gives away all of his land and resources to a religious institution (Dera) which is not acceptable to his family.
The spiritual delusion and politics of religion actually depict the old man being nasty and murky in the eyes of his family because of his decision of joining the Dera. The only son of the old man is not allowed to meet him when he decides to encounter his father who now lives in Dera. Things take their own turns and the story takes upon the journey where it exhibits various vicious layers of the society we are living in.
