The punjabi short story 'Rajai' is written by one of the famous punjabi writers 'Veena Verma'. Abandoned lady with two kids found shelter in the premises of a stranger when she was thrown away by her actual husband in a foreign land. The stranger not only comforted her and her children but gave them proper settlement to live and survive. Sooner or later, the Stanger became more like a father figure to the children and even got them married when they reach their ages to start their own families.By the time the stranger died, the lady was in remorse as her own husband would have died. She became more attached to the things that were given to her and her kids... 'Rajai' (quilt) which is symbolic for the comfort is laid in the bin unknowingly by the new bride of the house. This angers the lady as this act hits her hard and deepens her pain but .... things turn right as her own son comes and says...
